  • Zoe Matthews (Founder/Director)

    Zoe Matthews is continually striving to push forward the boundaries of education and learning, particularly in post-emergency and emerging markets, and to develop innovative, technology-driven methods necessary to apply them to often complex economies. The values dear to her heart are to be able to bring knowledge to people and institutions so that they are able to craft sustainable solutions in response to a fast-changing world. Those values were instilled in the NGO she co-founded in Myanmar called Mote Oo Education, and now have been in instilled in ARC, her social impact consulting firm conceived to help our beneficiaries to be more resilient in the face of global challenges including food insecurity, conflict, displacement and climate change. She has almost 20 years experience in capacity development, including teaching, training, research and curriculum development and 10+ years designing stakeholder engagement and learning strategies, including targeted programming for vulnerable populations, including migrants, refugee and IDP adolescents and youth.

  • Su Wint Wah (Senior Advisor)

    Su has 10 years of experience in development, sustainable private sector development and innovative finance working for a variety of organisations including non-profits, social enterprises, UN agencies and bilateral organisations such as FCDO. At FCDO, she was the Access to Finance lead managing three programmes worth £12m. She has also worked with financial institutions, government entities to strengthen their ESG practices and support them in preparation for accessing green finance opportunities. Su has a deep understanding of the private sector in ASEAN region and has previously worked in Myanmar, Thailand and the UK. Her expertise lies in project design and strategy, corporate sustainability and ESG investing. She holds an M.A. in Business and International Development from the Institute of Development Studies, University of Sussex.

  • Fildaus Dadine K (Consultant)

    Fildaus Dadine Kantengwa is a results-driven strategist and digital marketing specialist with a passion for education, knowledge sharing, research and content design. She strives to create a solution-based learning and practices using frameworks and business models to pin-point areas of improvement and sustainability for business. Prior to joining ARC, Dadine worked on numerous market research, brand strategy and content design projects both in the UK and Rwanda including projects with the West Midlands police, Leicester Labels, RDB, University of UTB and more. She holds a BA in International Business Management and an MA in Strategic and Digital Marketing.

  • Kyawt Thuzar (Senior Consultant)

    ​​Kyawt Thuzar has experience working with different international and national entities such as Mercy Corps, Search for Common Ground, and the Westminster Foundation for Democracy (WFD). She places great importance on policy briefs as a communication tool towards sustainable development, and effective stakeholder engagement to promote transparency and accountability in governance. Her work also includes the design of workshops and participatory training solutions for civic and peace education towards social cohesion in conflict areas, as well as advocacy tools and actions for ending gender-based violence. Kyawt Thuzar holds an M.Ed. in Cultural and Educational Policy Studies (Loyola University Chicago) and is a Fulbright Scholar.

  • Joanne Lauterjung (Senior Consultant)

    Joanne has worked across multiple sectors to develop capacity for better communication and leadership for organizations and individuals in Myanmar, Turkey, Germany, Fiji and the United States. She facilitates developing processes that are mindful, adaptable and creative - processes of discovery to find solutions with "big picture" applications and awareness. Joanne incorporates creative methods of dialogue to build trust and confidence. She demonstrates her passion for building bridges and creative problem-solving along with a commitment to deep listening, flexibility and professionalism. Joanne holds Master of Arts in Conflict Transformation from Eastern Mennonite University’s Center for Justice and Peacebuilding.

  • Esther Lian Za Vung (Consultant)

    Esther holds a degree in Commerce and diplomas in Community Development from the Philippines and Accounting from London Chamber of Commerce Industry. She has over 7 years of experience working in community and economic development projects for Thailand, Myanmar and the Philippines with non-profits, private sector from small businesses to international brands and consulting agency. Her expertise lies in Corporate Social Responsibility practices, ethical supply chain and human resource consultancy and training.

  • Jehangir Ashraf (Consultant)

    Jehangir has experience in communication strategies for societal change, project management in the field of youth empowerment, entrepreneurship and social innovation. Jehangir had three years of experience in economic journalism in Pakistan, writing for Pakistan’s leading financial daily, Business Recorder. Also, as a Youth Economic Empowerment Officer for UNDP Pakistan, Jehangir has worked primarily on supporting young people in Pakistan to get better access to employment to unleash their potential. Jehangir holds a Master’s degree in Globalisation, Business and Development from the UK, and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS).

  • Pascaline Munezero (Consultant)

    Pascaline Munezero possesses a strong science and research background, specifically focussing on cognitive science and child development. Her past work includes the organizing and facilitating of workshops, distance learning and webinars for dissemination of knowledge and skills to local research teams and community-based organizations at the University of Rwanda. She is currently based in Kigali, and is a Master's candidate at the University of Edinburgh.

  • Pragya Gupta (Consultant)

    Pragya has over 10 years of experience and has worked across gender and development roles in the private sector as well as the international development sector. She has previously worked with Women’s World Banking, Suryoday Small Finance Bank and PwC India. She brings experience in managing regional development projects especially gender led strategies and capacity building to improve last mile delivery of financial services. She has also driven strategic initiatives and private sector partnerships focused on furthering impact investments in financial inclusion. She has a Masters in Globalisation, Business and Development from IDS, Sussex.

  • Amna Memon (Consultant)

    Amna is a development professional with specialisation in climate change, social research, monitoring and evaluation, and policy advocacy. She also has an extensive research experience related to police reform, economic policy, and education. Prior to joining ARC, Amna worked with UNDP as a Monitoring and Evaluation Officer in the Disaster Risk Reduction unit, which focuses on institutional strengthening to improve disaster preparedness in Pakistan. She holds an MSc in Social Policy and Social Research from University College London and a Bachelor's in Politics and Economics from Lahore University of Management Sciences. 

  • Carolina Szyp (Research advisor)

    Caro is an experienced researcher covering Sub-Saharan Africa, South America, the Sahel and the Middle East. She has worked on a number of projects looking at how young people engage with the rural economy and focusing on the impact of social protection interventions on youth employment outcomes. Her work has also allowed her to strengthen cross-sector skills, including stakeholder engagement and knowledge management. She has a passion for providing funders, international agencies and local governments with the evidence they need to improve their policy, practices and implementation. Carolina holds a Master’s degree in International Development from the UK and a Bachelor in Business Administration. She speaks fluent Spanish and English.

  • Thij Van Aalst (Consultant)

    Thij has worked at the United Nations Environment Program in Geneva, and for the UNF Clean Cooking Alliance in his native, Amsterdam, the Netherlands. As a climate finance specialist for Tjasker Advisors, Thij has supported financing of renewable energy projects in Ghana, India, and the Caribbean. He has also consulted for the Dutch government on initiatives such as a climate adaptation investment fund and a circular economy employment programme. His specialties within sustainable development focus on climate project financing, drafting and optimising strategy documents, in addition to broader project management. He has a Master’s degree in Business and Development from the Institute of Development Studies (IDS) in Brighton, and a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations/Political Science from Leiden University.

  • Haymar Khaing (Consultant)

    Haymar is a formally trained teacher with a Bachelor in Education from Yangon Institute of Education. Haymar has worked on a number of curriculum development and training projects in the specialization of Social Cohesion and Peace studies in Myanmar. She worked for Search for Common Ground, an international organisation that promotes the peaceful resolution of conflict, as a Curriculum Development Specialist. Under her leadership over 300 local government officials, community leaders, women and youth in Rakhine State have received specialised training in peacebuilding and conflict transformation. Haymar is also a passionate environmental activist and seeks to explore the connection between environmental stewardship and peacebuilding.

  • Po Po Thaung Win (Consultant)

    Po Po's expertise lies in teacher education, curriculum development, research and program management. She has designed non-formal education curriculum and conducted training and professional development programs related to teaching and school development for monastic schools. She is also a proud advocate for young people’s civic education. Previously, Po Po worked with Zabai Myanmar as a project manager and designed e-Learning courses for teacher training and child protection projects. Po Po is also co-founder of The Teacher Tree which has trained more than 1000 teachers from different regions of Myanmar. Her first degree is a B.Ed from Yangon University of Education and she also holds an M.Ed in Educational Management from Mahidol University, Thailand.

  • Julia Hollaender (Consultant)

    Julia has many years of experience in Gender, GBV Prevention & Response and Protection in development and humanitarian settings, working with grass-root level CSOs and INGOs, coordinating with government and the UN. Her experience encompasses working with refugees, IDPs and stateless populations. Julia has set up and led Protection, including Child Protection and GBV prevention and response programs with a strong focus on capacity building, training of staff and partners and developing tools and guidance. She also has experience co-leading the national GBV Sub-Sector Working Group in Libya alongside UNFPA. She holds a Master’s degree from SOAS, University of London, in legal and cultural studies, with a focus on Human Rights and Women's Rights.

  • Duang-ramon Paaptanti (Senior Consultant)

    Duang-ramon Paaptanti, also known as Bee, has been working in Thailand and the Asia Pacific region for more than ten years in the field of humanitarian assistance for several international humanitarian organizations. These include ICRC, IOM, Save the Children, Winrock International and previously with UNHCR Regional Bureau for Asia and Pacific. While with the UNHCR Regional Bureau, she was part of the organizing team for Regional NGO Consultation. She also assisted in organizing the first ever humanitarian and development knowledge exchange workshop between UNHCR senior development officers in the region and development actors such as JICA, ADB, the World Bank, to name a few. Duang-ramon has a Master Degree in Peace Studies and a Rotary International Peace Fellow.

  • Anna Rogers (Business Development Advisor)

    Anna has an established track record in development consultancy across multiple donor and non-profit organisations as well as governments and the private sector. She has over 15 years of experience as a private sector development professional with a proven experience in business development, programme management and change management. She has implemented projects in Africa, Asia, Middle East, CIS and Latin America regions for multiple bi- and multi-lateral organisations, with a value ranging from £200,000 to £100,000,000m. She has advised on multiple projects in the areas of private sector development, economic growth, challenge fund management, SME development, business enabling environment, agriculture, financial inclusion, etc. She holds an M.A. in International Economics and she is an avid photographer and yoga professional.
